Heybridge is a pretty village, lovely old houses, waterways and a fantastic tearoom. Ideal for a weekend jaunt really. After our trip to
Bradwell, we popped in for a cream tea.
I've blogged about t
he tearooms before (in fact it was one of my first ever posts). If you're in the area I highly recommend you drop in.
We each went for an Afternoon tea. You get a choice of tea or a coffee, a sandwich and a scone with tiptree jam and clotted cream. I think it was just over £8.

All of the food is prepared fresh on the premises and is always to a high standard.

I'm not sure if Tiptree preserves is just an Essex thing or is available everywhere? But if you can find it in your local supermarket give it a go, it is proper good jam. When I was at Uni I usually took a jar up with me at the start of term (I'm a big fan of jam and toast) and it would disappear suspiciously fast - my housemates must have loved it as well.
