They've refurbished the stables and turned them into a gift shop and a second-hand book store. The book shop is brilliant, really well organised and sooooo cheap! I may have broken my self imposed book buying ban.

Hylands House
The sunshine this weekend meant pretty much the entire population of Chelmsford was at Hylands House. The car park was absolutely mental.
The house wasn't open, but nobody really goes for that anyway, as its overpriced (personally I think it should be free for locals). There are huge fields and some formal gardens that are the perfect thing to roam around in the sun.
The V festival is held at Hylands every year, and its what Chelmsford is really known for, otherwise it's not much of a tourist spot.
